Every time we update, we announce whether the update is "Mandatory" or "Non-Mandatory" - and for mandatory updates like 2.8, we like to give you as much advance warning as possible, like last week's blog post/notices, which were very specific about how this update would work.
Mandatory updates have always worked the same way: once we release the update, bunnies stop eating and need to be updated. Since a well-fed bunny takes 72 hours to get hungry enough to hibernate, even once the update is out, owners do have a few days' window of opportunity.
If you have bunnies hibernating in your inventory, they will need to be updated once they are inworld and out of hibernation. Until then, they are unaffected. This, too, has always been the case.
